How can I become a volunteer?

We are always looking for more volunteers! Please feel free to stop into the office to fill out a volunteer form, and get your Theatre by the Bay t-shirt. We can also answer any other questions you may have about volunteering at that time.

How can I become a member?

At Theatre by the Bay there are many different membership levels that can suit any contribution. You can call the Theatre by the Bay Box Office at 705.735.9243 and talk to one of our box office staff about what membership level is right for you.

How can I become a sponsor?

There are various levels of sponsorship for your business that can fit within your community contribution budget. Contact with Larissa Mair, Artistic Producer, at 705-735-9243 or larissa@theatrebythebay.com to arrange a meeting and discuss various options.

When are your auditions?

Auditions are typically in January for our Main Company Production and is the spring for the Young Company.

Where is the box office located?

Our box office is located in the heart of downtown Barrie at:

• 55 Dunlop Street East, Unit 1
• Barrie, ON L4M 1A2

and is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. During the months of June and July the box office is open 9 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week. The box office phone number is 705.735.9243.

What are the dates and times of the shows playing?

Main Company - The Tempest

• Show Dates: July 1^st - July 16^th, 2011
• Monday through Saturday at 8 pm with a 2 pm matinee on Wednesdays.
• Pay What You Can performance on Monday July 11th at 2 pm.
• No performances on Sundays.

Young Company - Treasure Island The Pirate Musical

• Show Dates: July 2^nd - 16^th, 2011
• Monday through Saturday at 11 AM and 2:30 PM with the exception of Wednesdays, when the morning show is at 10:30 AM.
• No performances on Sundays.
• No matinée show on Monday July 11^th

How do I pay for my tickets?

You can pay for your tickets at the Theatre by the Bay box office at 55 Dunlop Street East, Unit 1 in Barrie or over the phone by credit card. We accept Visa and MasterCard.

How can I get my tickets?

You can pick up your tickets at the Theatre by the Bay box office at 55 Dunlop Street East, Unit 1 in Barrie or reserve them over the phone and pick them up 15 minutes prior to the performance at the venue.

Where can I eat that is close to the theatre?

There are a number of fabulous restaurants in the vicinity.

Is the theatre wheelchair accessible?

Yes.

What is the policy regarding children?

Every child is welcome, but must pay for a ticket if they require a seat.

What is your exchange policy?

There are no refunds or exchanges after a ticket is purchased.

Will latecomers be admitted?

Latecomers will be admitted during an appropriate break during the performance, escorted by one of our ushers. It is preferred that patrons are punctual as being admitted late may cause a distraction for audience members and cast.

Where can I park?

Georgian College offers paid parking in several lots near the theatre. Parking is $2 and is coin operated. You must have a $2 coin (toonie) to exit the lot.

What is your policy for bus tours?

Bus tours receive a special group rate which varies from show to show. Contact our box office staff at 705.735.9243 to arrange a bus tour group to attend one of Theatre by the Bay's performances.

The organizer and bus driver receive complimentary tickets to groups that have over 10 people.
