Shakespeare On Love

Teachers, book your school today to secure a spot for this innovative, creative, fun and affordable experience for your students to learn about the works of William Shakespeare from professional actors working in the industry!

Following the successful tour of last year's Shakespeare's Magic, Theatre by the Bay presents Shakespeare on Love, the latest in our series of Shakespeare-based shows for students.

Theatre by the Bay continues its hilarious series of Shakespeare adaptations for children and youth with this year's Shakespeare on Love. Follow the toils and tribulations of the lovers in Shakespeare's plays as he shows, once again, his incredible insight into our common times. With a combination of contemporary and Shakespearean language, Theatre by the Bay's Shakespeare to the Classroom program attempts to introduce or re-introduce young audiences to his plays. By using scenes from some of his most popular works (including Romeo & Juliet, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet and many more), our goal is to demystify his poetry and plays and make them as enjoyable to modern audiences as they would have been over 400 years ago.

Join us for a highly entertaining and educational performance that will be sure to have young audiences reaching for their bookshelves. Each performance is 45-minutes in length and is appropriate for grades 3-12. (Adaptations to the script are made according to age-appropriateness). Teaching packages are available upon booking.

Theatre by the Bay strives to:

• Bring professional and affordable theatre productions to local schools

• Cost $2.00 per student with a minimum $400 charge.

• Performances will require ½ hour set up time
• We do not require any risers for the performance
• Show will be 45 minutes in length
• 15 minute question and answer after the performance
• Educational packages given to teachers after performance
• Theatre by the Bay supports the Ontario Curriculum.
