ALADDIN
It just wouldn't be summer without Theatre by the Bay and Stephen is thrilled to be back, this time as Aladdin.
Stephen has been performing in and around Barrie and beyond since stealing the stage at the age of 8 as Baby Bear.
Since then he has performed with the Strolling Youth Players, Kempenfelt Community Players, South Simcoe Theatre, and in numerous school productions.
This past year Stephen performed in One Song Glory at the North York Centre for the Performing Arts and was invited to perform at the Paprika Festival in Toronto.
Most recently he played The Beast in Moving Art's presentation of Disney's
Beauty and the Beast.
Stephen has trained vocally with Edwina Douglas for the past couple of years and looks forward to putting all the skills he has learned to the test in this years production of
Aladdin and Jasmine's Summer Adventure.
Stephen would like to take this opportunity to thank Larissa Mair, Edwina Douglas and Carla Tucker for their ongoing encouragement and support. As well as family and friends he must of course thank his biggest fan of all Gigi!
JASMINE
This past year, Kimberly discovered a whole new world while studying abroad at the
Herstmonceux Castle in England.
Across the pond, Kimberly was granted cultural experiences in both the U.K. and continental Europe, while studying her passion: art.
Now she’s back in Barrie, and ready to “Jas” things up in Theatre by the Bay’s latest summer adventure.
This is Kimberly’s third season with Theatre by the Bay; past roles include Tinkerbell in
Peter Pan and Tinkerbell’s Summer Adventure and Agnes in
Cinderella’s Summer Adventure.
She is thrilled to be taking on the role of “Jasmine” in this year’s production.
Kimberly has studied vocals for six years, taking lessons with Jen Bodle, Renee Cingolani, and currently, Edwina Douglas. Come September, she will be relocating to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she will attend Dalhousie University to complete her second year. Big thanks go out to family, friends, cast and crew. Enjoy the show!
JAFFAR
Scott is excited to be back for his second season with Theatre By The Bay.
He is currently enrolled in the program of
Drama in Education and Community at the University of Windsor, and is happy to be back on summer break!
Scott is a 19 year old living in the small but mighty town of Elmvale, Ontario where there lives the cleanest water in the world!
You might have caught Scott in the role of 'John' in last years Theatre By The Bay performance
Peter Pan and Tinkerbell's Summer Adventure.
Scott is Currently working under the guidance of Carla Tucker with the Moving Arts team, teaching kids acting, improv, musical theatre.. and all that jazz!
He is excited to work with this talented cast and knows that you will enjoy the show!
IAGO
Liam has been doing theatre for the last 5 years.
He started off in his hometown community theatre (Coldwater village players).
He did his first production with them in Cinderella and has done many shows:
HMS Pinefore, Yesterdaze, Jack and the Beanstalk....
From there on he had moved on and started auditioning for M.A.T productions.
Last year Liam did his first show with M.A.T being the fiddler in
Fiddler on the Roof.
Liam was born in Barrie on April 14th, 1995 and was adopted at 5 days old as he is living with his parents in the small village Coldwater. Liam enjoys playing piano as he is in grade 6 repertoire and wants to continue his musical career. Liam has had the opportunity to direct his own show in Coldwater and was proudly sponsored by the Coldwater Lions Club. He is doing 2 shows this summer and hopes to have fun with both of them. Last fall Liam played Mr Fulton in his high school production High School Musical 2. He had a lot of fun working with new people as it was his first year in high school and is excited to do their show next fall.
Liam likes to make new friends, work with others and most important HAVE FUN!!!!!!!! and is excited to do his first professional production with Theatre by the Bay.
APU
Connory is excited to be back for a second season with Theatre By The Bay.
This year though, he is 15 years old but still lives in Barrie, Ontario, where he performs regularly.
He is currently training at Moving Art, has taken vocal training with Jane Black and dramatic coaching with Mairtin O'Carrigan.
His past theatre experience has included performing in KCP's
Seussical, the Musical,
The Sound of Music (Kurt),
The Wiz, (Gatekeeper's Assistant, Pit Singer), Moving Art's
Once on this Island (Daniel Beauxhomme), and as Michael in last year's TBTB production of
Peter Pan and Tinker-bell's Summer Adventure.
More recently he performed in KCP's Dear Edwina as Scott Kunkle, and traveled to Ottawa with his school Improv Team to compete in the National Improv Games, placing ninth in Canada. You can also catch him playing the pompous Gaston in Moving Art's production of Beauty and the Beast this May.
Connory loves telling stories in various ways, whether through dance or living characters while performing on stage, or while creating mirth in the hearts of many on his Improv Team. In his spare time he reads, writes short stories, plays guitar, dabbles in piano, performs magic, improvs, juggles, and enjoys ping-pong, baseball, and rugby. He hopes you laugh and have fun in this years show!
GENIE
Ben is excited to be returning to Theatre by the Bay this season!
Big thanks to Larissa, Edwina and Carla for the opportunity to play again this summer with such a great cast.
Past favourite roles include; Horton in Seussical the Musical (KCP), Officer Barrel in
Urinetown (SST), and as Captain Hook in
Peter Pan and Tinkerbell's Summer Adventure.
Ben was most recently seen playing William Barfee in
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Bathurst Theatre in Toronto with Fallen Rock Productions.
He currently trains with Renee Cingolani for voice.
MARTY
Tom is excited to be in this Theatre By The Bay production of
Aladdin and Jasmine's Summer Adventure.
He was in his first professional theatre production with Talk is Free Theatre's
Oliver!, at the age of 10.
He followed that with TBTB's Snow White's Summer Adventure and then
Peter Pan and Tinkerbell's Summer Adventure.
Tom actively participates in community and school musical productions and has recently written and directed a musical in the arts program at his school.
Tom has been training in voice for the past 10 years, and is a Grade 12 student at St. Joan of Arc High School, in Barrie.
He hopes you enjoy the show!
QUEEN PABLA
Katie is thrilled to be a part of this year's Theatre by the Bay production of
Aladdin and Jasmine's Summer Adventure.
Katie is a part of the Arts Program at Huron Heights Secondary School in Newmarket.
Katie has appeared in Arts Huron Productions of
Kiss Me Kate, Put Up Your Hand (Lisa),
HONK! (Grace), and
P.S. I'm Okay (Irene).
Katie has had the opportunity to participate in drama and improv workshops in Toronto, Chicago and New York City and has studied voice with Edwina Douglas over the past three years and looks forward to many more lessons ahead.
Katie would like to thank Larissa, Edwina and Carla for this amazing opportunity and hopes you enjoy the show!
ECHINACEA
Meghan Fox lives in Barrie and will be entering grade 11 in September.
She has appeared in Kempenfelt Community Players' productions of
Suessical the Musical,
The Wiz, and Anything Goes.
This year, Meghan was cast as Edwina Spoonapple in KCP's
Dear Edwina, and most recently played Cinderella, in her high school production of the same name.
She supports her love of musical theatre by taking vocal lessons with Edwina Douglas.
Meghan is grateful to live in a community that encourages the arts and provides so many opportunities for young people to learn and perform. Everyday, do something that makes you happy!
CITRONELLA
Jade’s passion is to perform.
Her dance career started at the age of 3 and she lives for an audience, whether it be dance company recitals, school talent shows or the living room after family Sunday night dinners.
Jade has performed with Bravado as a dance accompaniment.
Her recent performances include her roles as Annie and Kelly in Kempenfelt Community Players production of
Dear Edwina.
Jade attends Moving Art’s triple threat program and performed in their productions of
Once on This Island and
Beauty and The Beast.
She currently attends Eastveiw Secondary School where she participates in the Arts program.
Jade would like to thank Carla, Mike and Isaac for all their coaching and Edwina Douglas for keeping her notes in key. Jade looks forward to you seeing more of her on the stage!
